Okay,
I’m gonna get straight to the point here. Fuck Rotterdam Rave or
whatever the name of the organizer of aforementioned event is (their
website is www.rotterdamrave.com).
You guys are pieces of shit and I hope karma catches up with you. I
consider myself pretty open-minded and tolerant but the shit I
experienced is beyond anything I’ve ever seen at an event. So this
past Saturday, we felt like going for a rave. There’s this place
called Perron which I really like but since we wanted
to try something new, we ended up getting tickets for this Spring
Special thing. And man… Let me break this down. So you pay nearly
30 EUR for the ticket. That’s fine. Big event in a former factory
by a canal… Why not. You get to the spot and you find yourself in a
line of hundreds of people queuing up. That’s also fine. Obviously
many youngsters and I gotta give them credit for handling all that
pretty fast. Don’t hold your breath tho… You get in and here’s
what happens. You spend 7.5 EUR for a locker (it’s actually 12.5
but they give you 5 back at the end). Then you want to use a toilet
and there’s a lady charging 4
EUR to fucking go there. After having
paid the ticket. You pay money to go to the restroom! Never happened
to me before. So here’s the deal. You
have a girl standing in front of the toilet with a credit card
terminal charging everybody and then stamping their wrists. Yeah, you
only pay that shit once. Next time, the stamp will do. Still, paying
that to take a fucking piss? It doesn’t
stop there. Next to this lady there’s
also a dedicated toilet security guy whose job is to make sure that
nobody carries a plastic cup or an empty bottle to the restroom in
case they needed some tap water. Not happening bro. On a rave. Full
of young people. Half of them half naked and on drugs. You do this.
Fucking genius. You fucking want people hydrated. The idea of
charging for the restroom and doing your absolute best to keep people
from accessing drinkable water is insane to me. Many people still do
beers and shots and all that shit but what if someone actually does
not have tons of money to
spend and needs just couple of cups of water at some point? Guess
not… You might not even access the toilet if you didn’t bring
enough extra money. Then you got the
bar. So you can’t use a card at the bar. You have to go one of many
machines and swipe your card to get some cute little red tokens.
And here’s the thing. 4 of them were like 16 EUR. And you can only
buy even numbers. Small bottle of water costs 1.5 of those fuckers.
So when these kids dance, experiment and try
to have a good time, they
need fucking 6
EUR to hydrate with 300ml bottle
of water. And the guy rips of the lid to make sure they can’t put
it into purse and secretly fill it up in the washroom. Which is not
only greedy and stupid but also highly impractical. Because if you
want to dance with the bottle in your hand, it’s pretty fucking
cool to be able to close it. Or if you place it somewhere around,
it’s kinda cool to have at least some sort of protection from
people dropping whatever the fuck into it. Plus
they obviously designed prices so you always end up with some tokens
left, too. I was
all a disgusting money grab. Honestly, the biggest surprise was how
many people were there. This shit apparently works. Granted, it was
mostly kids who
probably don’t
know any better. And probably also have
quite a lot of money. No idea how a 20-year-old voluntarily chooses
this place over pretty much any underground club. And yeah, that was
annoying too. The place was way too bright,
people were doing way too many photos and videos… A dude next to me
literally asked me “yo, what drugs have you taken today,
bro?” Like are you police or what? I got
a girl approaching me with a picture of Travis Barker on her phone
telling me that I look like him… It was all super weird. And I’m
sure part of it is cause I’m old and I don’t really know why
doing Tiktoks matters, but even putting that aside, that whole shit
was trash. By far the worst event I have ever attended. And
sincere “fuck you” to the organizers. Fucking pieces of shit.
Eventually,
we did end up in Perron which was an actual good event
with actual good music and nice people and we did have a good time.
So yeah, after burning tons of money at that bullshit place, we got
back to the basics. Took a cab back home in the morning, chilled for
the rest of the weekend… All good.
I’ve
been quite busy so I’m constantly behind with this blog but it will
get better at some point. More things have happened since the last
time I posted. I had to return my bike. I loved that fucking thing
but after couple of rides, I noticed that there was a crack in the
frame right below handlebars. For a moment, I was considering
ignoring it but then I figured I might not wanna kill myself just
yet, so I got it back to the dude who sold it to me. Got a partial
refund and left with a different bike. Don’t love it as much as the
initial one but it’ll do. Now I’m in a process of getting some
cycling shoes so I can start using clipless pedals; hopefully I get a
pair today. Trying to get them
second hand so it’s kinda hit and miss.
I
also had a chance to attend this slow sex workshop in Amsterdam. Now,
I have done some similar shit before while I was living in China. I
went twice to this Dragon Burn festival and there were some intimacy
workshopswhich
were totally fascinating and recently, I found out there are similar
communities operating here. The whole things was super cool. You
meditate, you slow down, you do some eye gazing, you do some gentle
touching. It’s all about slowing anything down, there’s no
nudity, no penetration, nothing like that. It’s really a different
type of intimacy. The type we
normally don’t experience because we’re too busy or simply
because we don’t communicate enough. Some people came by themselves
but there were some couples, too. And it was entirely up to you
whether you stay with your one person or whether you branch out and
roam around. It was all about articulating yourself, experimenting,
setting boundaries and staying in the moment. This whole shit should
be way more of a topic than it is. I feel I might be back there at
some point.
Apart
from that, it’s been work, it’s been yoga… I try to squeeze an
outdoor workout here and there… And some running. But it really
feels like I work a bit more than I should. It gets difficult to do
all those things these days. But then again… There’s some
holidays coming, there’s summer coming and I’m sure things will
get slower at some point. So let’s milk it now. Anyways, things are
well, work is going well, I got a trip to the Czech Republic coming
up in about 10 days… Before we go, let me just say Fuck Elon Musk,
fuck Mark Zuckerberg, fuck
Donald Trump, fuck JD Vance and fuck everybody who loves them. And to
everybody on the left: if we’re not talking about taxing
ultra-rich, we aren’t talking about anything. Shout out to Bernie,
shout to Gary Stevenson, shout to all to those guys. One!
