Semester 14 Chapter XVII: Exploring Homes

Hey y’all. Another sunny Sunday afternoon and we’re looking good over here. Summer is fucking here, head tattoo fully healed, energy is right, all is good. Wherever you are, I hope y’all doing great. Now to this thing.

 

The first half of last week was business as usual. Besides work, I spent Monday and Wednesday evening hanging out with my sis. Pretty enjoyable on both cases. Thursday night, my girl arrived from Tenerife so since then I’ve been on some Brno exploratory shit. I always enjoy showing people who haven’t been here around. It’s a pretty cool fucking place. All these nice cafés, all these cool spots to eat, all these parks and views. I did two things for the first time myself. We visited this boneyard in the center and we climbed up the tower of the St. Peter and Paul’s cathedral. Friday evening, we met up with my music bro and my sis to do some drinks on Na Dráze. Good vibes.

 

On Saturday, it was my nephew’s fourth bday celebration. Till then, I’d only managed to be around his first one so it felt good being there for a change. I borrowed a scooter from my sis and we did a bit of circling around the city. I was asked to pick up a pair of shoes for him in this shopping mall and then we took it to the village where my sis’ in-laws live. The party was nice. The little one was super happy about all his presents, there was tons of great food, liters of gin and tonic, vibes were good.

 

This morning, we took it an open-air market at this Vitamin spot just by the river. All local vendors… Clothes, food, art pieces… I met couple of people I hadn’t seen in ages. Brought back some memories. I fucking love my hometown if I dose it correctly. After that we took a really nice lunch at this GO joint; some proper Vietnamese cuisine.

As for today, there’s a plan of going to the local planetarium. My dad’s neighbor works there and he arranged some free tickets for me so we’re about to see some 3D space show. Can’t wait. And that’s about it; talk to you guys in the evenign. Sending love to everybody out there. One!

Semester 14 Chapter XVI: Head Tattoos

Hey y’all, here we go again. I’m still having quite a lot of fun being back in the Czech Republic. I missed this, I missed all my people, I missed city vibes. On top of that, summer has finally started and we jumped from winter jackets straight to short and t-shirts in like one day. Sometimes, when I walk around Brno or Prague, I’m thinking that it might be pretty cool living here at some point. Then I remind myself that there’s really like 7 months of bullshit weather here and that’s it’s not really all unicorns and rainbows. But I feel I can find healthy balance. Definitely wanna spend more time here than I used to.

 

Last week was good. On Monday, me and my sis joined my dad for another trivia night at his pub. I was yet again of absolutely no value. My knowledge of random shit of basically any sorts is close to zero plus I’m not really competitive so once more I just sat back drank my beer and watched people figuring shit out. It was fun tho. The rest of the week was mostly work and my regular routines.

 

Friday afternoon, I caught a bus to Prague. Made it to my friend’s tattoo shop in the evening and we prepared a stencil for a head piece for the following day. We got some beers and wrapped it up pretty early. Next morning, after walking her doggo, we got back to the stu and got to it. Now, head tattoo doesn’t hurt nearly as much as I expected. I was ready for hell. I was okay with suffering like motherfucker, I was okay with getting fever the day after, I was ready to pay a pretty big price for this one. It wasn’t any of that tho. Head is actually probably one of the least painful spots I’ve experienced so far. Maybe it’s because there’s really no soft tissue nor muscles there. Of course it’s pretty annoying hearing the sound of the machine so close to your ear, but we managed to do nearly a 9-hour sess and I was perfectly fine the whole time. And we did a lot. Some more shading in couple of weeks but it already looks epic.

 

After all that, me and two of my bros went out for some beers. Time flies like crazy man. Ten, twelve years ago, we all lived in Brno and hung out all the time. Going to bars and clubs and shit. While catching up, we realized that the two of them hadn’t actually seen one another in person for about 8 years. Adulthood can be fucking confusing. I’m turning 36 in couple of weeks and I still don’t fully understand what the fuck does that mean. The hangout was great tho. In the morning, we got some bagels outside and than hopped on a train back to Brno. I spent the rest of the day eating, resting, working and hanging out with the fam.

 

So there you have it. Another great week. Everything is still the way it’s supposed to be, I’m super happy about making the decision of spending some time here, I still talk to everybody I’m supposed to talk to, energy levels are proper. Semester 14 Chapter XV: Tattoos & Reunions

Hello world, the weather over here is shit. I would really to stress this out. When I was coming back here late April, I really thought I wouldn’t need my winter jacket anymore. There’s been like one or two days where you could survive with a short-sleeved shirt but it’s mostly either for a jumper or the fucking jacket. As I’m writing this, it’s raining yet again. I initially aimed at spending the afternoon on the bike but well… It is what it is… Still managed to do a long run in the morning, some workout and then it was some podcasts and series. Anyways, got new Swizz in the headphones, let’s do this…

 

Last Monday I was still in Prague. Did some work, had a lunch with my bro in the city center (which reminded me of how fucking beautiful Prague is) and spent the evening in this Kasárna spot next to the bus station. Got back to Brno around midnight. Over the week, I managed to reunite with my people whom I’m gonna visit in about a month in Canada. They came for some wedding so they’re in town. Hadn’t seen them for more than a year and shit was entertaining as hell. On Friday, I met-up with my friend and we went to this techno event not too far away from the city center. Part of the gig was outside and it was about 10 degrees. Believe it or not tho, there were half naked guys running around, there were ladies with tank tops, there was all kinds of crazy shit. I didn’t remove my jacket for a minute. Not a chance. When I felt I got everything I needed out of it (around 8am), I left the venue and walked home. The morning walk throughout empty city was actually super nice. Spent most of Saturday sleeping it off and in the evening I met up one of my bros for a beer at this Na Dráze joint. Pretty fucking cool weekend.

 

Then there were tattoos. On Wednesday it was my go. I wasn’t even sure I needed new ink but since I already had the date, I just went. We did mostly background work on my torso and retouching some of my older stuff. Expected it to be barely an hour, turned out to be about 3. And let me tell you… Ribs and abs are a motherfucker. Feels good to have some more shit done tho. The day after my sister went. It was a late Christmas gift from me. Due to some cancellations, I ended up having enough time to keep her company throughout the whole process. All the other tattooers left so it was just me, her and the guy tattooing. Pretty cool hangout. Oh yeah, and I did two dinners at my sis’ last week too. Lovely.

 

What else… Not much really… Work, my workout routines, keeping in touch with my girl in Tenerife, running around and enjoying my time here while it lasts. Wanna shout out all of my people and send some love to everyone who might need it. One!

Semester 14 Chapter XIV: Memory Lanes

What’s up everybody, checking in from Prague. The time over here is flying, there’s shit to do, weather is steadily improving, things are going well. I arrived couple of hours ago, got a welcome beer with my people over here and now I’m sitting in their apartment waiting for them to finish some shit so we can proceed for some more drinks and possibly dinner.

 

Last week was mostly family. On Monday me and my sis joined dad for the trivia night at his pub and our team won yet again. Same as the last time, sis walked away with tickets to the National Theater. Happy days. Rest of the week was work but I managed to check some movies and listen to some music. I run a bit more than I used to in Tenerife and I’m going harder with pull-ups, too. It’s all good.

 

Friday morning, there was a test run of my dad and his partner picking up the nephew from the kindergarten. I joined them a bit later, we spend most of the afternoon outside and we wrapped it all up by some beer. Lovely day. Saturday evening, I met one of my day ones whom I hadn’t seen in about year. Last time was when he and his gf visited Tenerife. Kinda hard to believe. It’s one of those friendships where, no matter how much time passes, it immediately feels like you haven’t skipped a beat. Got home at around three, woke up early, did my run, met up went to my sis’ for some lunch and off to Prague I went.

 

So yeah, everything is going smooth. More cool shit is planned for the upcoming days. More hangouts, more events, some tattoos, some trips. I hope everybody’s doing well, I hope y’all keeping it positive and rise above all the nonsense. Sending love to everybody reading. One!
